About the role

This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Laminator Machine and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities will include: assistance with creating SOP and other production related documentation, inventory data-entry and cross-training into other job functions as needed. This position requires routine attendance to departmental, production, safety and Company meetings.

Responsibilities

  • E 40% Set-up, operate, troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to the Laminator machine following established procedures and guidelines with minimal supervision to laminate material.
  • E 30% Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines. Continually check product for quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • E 10% Operate fork truck to transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements
  • E 10% Maintain clean work environment by cleaning belt from adhesive, IR’s and work area as needed; maintain machine as required by changing blades as required and report any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department
  • E 5% Utilize computer at workstation to login, enter/review production data and work orders as required
  • E 5% Cross-train into other job functions providing assistance as necessary within the department

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience preferred; 12-months manufacturing or machine operating experience required; department experience preferred
  • English fluency (read, write, speak); strong communication skills required (written/verbal)
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Cross-training within department/location will be required as part of position
  • Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
  • Read and understand units of measure
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred
  • Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
  • Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role

Qualifications

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing and/or pulling.
  • Move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.
  • Exert up to 130 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move object.
  • Manual dexterity to move material and operate equipment.
  • Communicate effectively (write, speak) with supervisors and others on performance and safety concerns.
  • Adequate hearing ability to receive work instruction and to respond to changes in work environment.
  • Attention to detail to complete work assignments.
  • Time management to comply with scheduled work time and maintain productivity requirements.
  • Able to understand and abide by safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Able to move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.

Skills
