About the role

This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about starting a career in the medical field. As an ophthalmic assistant, you will receive intensive classroom and hands-on training to prepare you for a fulfilling career in ophthalmology. You’ll work alongside renowned ophthalmic surgeons and optometrists, performing complex diagnostic testing and exams that provide critical medical information to support patient treatment. This role offers a path to advanced, internationally recognized certification in a growing field.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform complex diagnostic testing and eye exams under the guidance of ophthalmologists and optometrists.
  • Assist doctors in gathering medical information to support the medical and surgical treatment of patients.
  • Develop strong patient connections through warm, empathetic communication.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment to support patient care and practice operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Experience in a professional environment with a strong customer service focus.
  • Previous experience in the medical field or certification is preferred but not required.
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn and apply complex concepts to daily work.
  • Motivated, resilient, and eager to grow a meaningful medical career.

Schedule

This is a full-time position located in Wildwood, FL, with occasional travel to other locations as necessary.
