About the role
Provides activities to support and encourage breastfeeding for families at a medical center, including inpatients, outpatients, prenatal clients, and employees. Updates nursing staff and physicians on breastfeeding information and performs related duties as assigned. Serves patients from birth to 50 years old.
Responsibilities
- Assist and educate families on breastfeeding practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of breastfeeding guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote breastfeeding support.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher (or in progress with completion within 3 years).
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the applicable state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least one year of recent nursing experience, with emphasis on breastfeeding.
Schedule
This is a per diem/on-call role with variable shifts.
