About the role
Labcorp is seeking a Reference Test Clerk to join our team in Raritan, NJ. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens, troubleshooting customer and specimen issues, and supporting various laboratory functions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems
- Send test requests to the proper location and release test results
- Assist clients with specimen-related requests or inquiries
- Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities
- Provide support to various areas of the laboratory
- Perform sample sorting, racking, and retrieving
- Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum qualification)
- Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Qualifications
- 3 months or more of specimen processing experience (preferred)
- 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience (preferred)
Pay
$18–$21 per hour, plus shift differential.
Schedule
Monday–Friday and alternating Saturdays, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM.

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible for the 401(k) Plan only. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
