Laboratory Technician – Specimen Processing

About the role

Viltis is seeking a Drug Manufacturing Technician (Positive Aliquoter) for a full-time contract/temp-to-perm opportunity supporting a toxicology laboratory in Gretna, LA 70053. The contract runs from October 2026 through April 2027, with potential for permanent hire. The role is in a laboratory/toxicology/drug testing environment. Qualified candidates may be invited to a virtual facility tour via Microsoft Teams as part of the hiring process and must complete all required pre-employment screenings before beginning the assignment. Responsibilities

• Remove presumptive-positive specimens and aliquot samples for confirmation testing.
• Arrange and organize aliquots according to established laboratory procedures.
• Store positive specimens in designated refrigerator and freezer areas.
• Retrieve frozen specimens when re-aliquoting is required.
• Receive and open specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysis.
• Review specimens and chain-of-custody documentation for completeness and acceptability.
• Document specimen information accurately.
• Destroy specimens when required according to established procedures.
• Clean and maintain the work area daily.
• Follow laboratory security procedures and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
• Comply with company policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
