Laboratory Technician (PSS4-AS) Biology, Environmental Science, and Geology - College of Science & Mathematics

Duties And Responsibilities

• Aid in preparing laboratories for Biology, Environmental Science, and Geology courses
• Train and manage student workers in a team environment
• Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment
• Maintain, calibrate, clean, and inventory laboratory equipment and field gear
• Prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
• Clean and organize classrooms and lab spaces
• Prepare chemical reagents and standards
• Support faculty in developing new laboratory exercises
• Communicate effectively with faculty and staff regarding course needs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, chemistry, environmental science, geology, or related field
• One year of professional experience
• Strong computer skills for laboratory safety and supply management
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Master’s degree in biological sciences, chemistry, environmental science, geology, or related field
• Experience in laboratory safety compliance
• Familiarity with geology and environments of New Jersey
• Previous experience conducting field investigations
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and media preparation

SALARY

The annual base salary range for this position is CWA: Range 18 ($56,253), with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.
