Laboratory Technician I - PAT-BTR

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in data organization and analysis.
• Affords support in specimen storage and chemical waste management.
• Affords assistance in the grossing of tissues.
• Affords reception and logging of daily shipments, storage, and notification of relevant personnel.
• Affords maintenance of laboratory equipment and performance of general procedures such as monitoring, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
• Affords assistance in slide digitization and organization.
• Affords documentation of testing results and recording of observations in accordance with good practice quality guidelines and regulations (GxP), standard operating procedures, and protocol requirements.
• Might perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree.
• Experience: Minimum of 0-2 years' experience required.
• Knowledge: Technical knowledge of scientific disciplines; knowledge of and skill in tissue culture technique and handling biological hazards and their safe use and disposal.
• Skills: Willingness to learn.
• Abilities: Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust background check.

Physical Capabilities

• Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
• Standing or Sitting: Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

This position will take place primarily in a laboratory setting.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $19.33-$25.00. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
