Laboratory Technician I

The Henderson mine and mill are located an hour's drive apart, with the Henderson mine being an underground molybdenum mining operation near Denver and Empire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
• Collect samples from rail cars or trucks as needed, preparing them for analysis using established tests and techniques.
• Assist with and perform routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry, and/or computer skills relevant to the assignment.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field.
• Ability to collect samples from various plant locations.
• Experience performing maintenance on sample systems in the plant, including plumbing installations and unclogging of sample lines.
• Ability to communicate data to metallurgists and operators.
• Focus on quality for plant production through repetitive daily tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance and laboratory analysis issues.
• Ability to input assay information into required databases.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00 - $29.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.

Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.
