About the role
The Laboratory Technician I supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. This is an entry level position, suitable for those looking to gain experience in a laboratory setting without a 4-year degree.
Responsibilities
- Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
- Performing sample preparation which may include aliquoting samples, spiking and tracing samples, preparing reagents, bottling samples, preparing concentrations, separation, sonication, preparing water on soil samples for metals analysis, performing digestions with concentrated acids, learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System, learning the Mercury Analysis, liquid rack setup, resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
- Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
- Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
- Stocking laboratory supplies.
- Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High school Chemistry coursework preferred.
- Basic laboratory experience preferred.
- Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 12:30pm - 9:00pm
