The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. Full-time entry level position Mon-Fri schedule 7:30am-4:00pm Candidates living within a commutable distance of Edison, NJ are encouraged to apply. Compensation $17.50 plus eligible for benefits This is an entry level position, those looking to gain experience in a laboratory setting without a 4 year degree encouraged to apply. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:Aliquot samplesSpike and trace samplesPrepare reagentsBottle samplesPrepare concentrationsSeparationSonicationPreparing water on soil samples for metals analysis.Performing digestions with concentrated acidsLearning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management SystemLearning the Mercury AnalysisLiquid rack set upResolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.Stocking laboratory supplies.Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.Assisting other laboratory areas as needed. Qualifications Requirements High school diploma or equivalentHigh school Chemistry coursework preferred.Basic laboratory experience preferredPrevious production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
