Location: Sparks, MD | Duration: 12+ months contract | Schedule: B shift (7:00 PM – 5:00 AM, Monday – Thursday, 4 ten-hour shifts)
About the Role
This position supports the lab responsible for cleaning plastic bottles and glassware using washers, autoclaves, and dryers. The role requires strict adherence to procedures and meticulous record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble clinical and commercial products.
- Operate production equipment.
- Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials to ensure batches contain proper ingredients and quantities.
- Assist with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
- Validate processes and equipment related to filtration, cleaning, and sterilization.
- Remove and dispose of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in scientific operations.
- Prepare solutions, powders, and liquids for batches to meet specifications.
- Provide training support for onboarding and new procedures.
- Support the lead/supervisor as needed.
- Recommend continuous improvement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Adhere to all client housekeeping and safety policies.
- Work overtime as required to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Minimum education/experience:
- High school diploma with technical certification in laboratory operations plus 3 years of laboratory experience, or
- Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline with 2–3 years of laboratory experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 1–2 years of laboratory experience.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management.
- Ability to operate independently.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, analyzing charts, following diagrams, basic arithmetic).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
