Laboratory Technician

About the role

The Research Support Specialist will assist the lab under the direction of the principal investigator, performing a variety of research tasks including work with bacterial and eukaryotic cell cultures, recombinant DNA experiments, virus neutralization tests, and maintenance of a mouse colony. Additional duties include cleaning and organizing the laboratory workspace and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with bacterial and eukaryotic cell cultures.
• Perform recombinant DNA experiments.
• Conduct virus neutralization tests.
• Maintain and work with a mouse colony.
• Clean and organize laboratory workspace and equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological science or a related field (minimum).
• Prior experience with cell cultures and molecular biology (preferred).
• Training in studying antibody‑mediated neutralization of microorganisms (preferred).
• Willingness to work with animal models (preferred).

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with occasional evening and weekend hours required for timed research protocols.

Pay

Salary range: $35,000 – $46,000.
