LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and carry out molecular genetics experiments.
• Design and carry out lifespan studies and genetic crosses.
• Manage the Riddle lab's Drosophila stock collection.
• Coincide and supervise the training of undergraduate students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A bachelor's degree in biology or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of molecular genetics and genetics is required.
• The ability to read and summarize primary research literature in related fields is required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in sample collection and recordkeeping are required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• The ability to work independently and under supervision is required.
• At least one year of experience in laboratory research is required.

Paid

• $15.00 – $22.75 per hour
