Laboratory Technician

About the role

A globally leading consumer device company based in San Diego, CA is looking for a Lab Technician to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage a large-scale hardware rack testing environment for various firmware projects.
• Manage a myriad of devices and fixtures that run on these device clusters.
• Provide physical in-lab support to enable automated system testing on the racks.
• Work with the firmware and software engineering teams to set up test hardware configurations.
• Work with the test automation team to troubleshoot test environment issues.
• Work with the test automation team to improve lab automations.

Requirements

• 2 years of building and managing a lab with devices.
• Technical support experience or equivalent working knowledge in computer hardware and networking.
• Experience managing macOS and iOS devices.
• Experience automating device management using Python, bash and Ansible.
• Strong at diagnosing and resolving system and user-level issues in macOS, iOS or Linux.
• A team player with good communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Work with customers and colleagues to identify and fix issues with hardware setups.
• Provide problem-solving steps to resolve issues easily and effectively.
• Able to help assemble custom test fixtures.
• Creative problem solver who can figure out ways to get things done quickly, efficiently and professionally.

Pay

Pay range: $30.00 - $36.52 per hour (DOE)
