Laboratory Technician

About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Technician to support our R&D department in a laboratory and glovebox environment. You will work directly with research associates and scientists to carry out experiments, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintain laboratory safety. The role requires adaptability, proficiency with hand/power tools, and a willingness to learn new methods. Candidates must be prepared to handle hazardous materials and perform repetitive tasks with meticulous attention to detail to ensure data quality and reproducibility.
Responsibilities
- Work in a laboratory setting with hazardous chemicals under proper guidance to carry out assigned tasks.
- Follow daily/weekly schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Communicate routinely with manager(s) to receive work assignments.
- Maintain key equipment and ensure smooth lab operations.
- Handle and report data following established guidelines to the correct owners.
- Support senior scientists in facilitating multi-week experiments.
- Assist with safety, organization, and scale-up efforts within the company.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a technician, lab assistant, mechanic, or in a similar capacity (2-year degree preferred but not mandatory).
- Willingness to learn new techniques, methods, and tools as needed.
- Strict adherence to laboratory procedures and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in basic computer tasks, including web-based project management software (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Office 365) and file management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy startup environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide creative engineering and materials solutions to technical problems.
