About the Role
Laboratory work involving chemicals, minerals, mineral formulations, and related products using established and experimental laboratory methods. Responsibilities include logging samples, entering data, and reporting results.
Responsibilities
- Identifies disconnects between laboratory test methods and expected results in daily project operations, modifying or escalating issues using scientific or engineering methods.
- Tests and implements new methods and processes under guidance.
- Shares perspectives on team challenges constructively and participates actively in team activities.
- Suggests process improvements and modifications to procedures, equipment, instruments, or safety/health/environment (SHE) standards to enhance performance.
- Completes tasks in a timely manner with a focus on task-oriented activities.
- Recognizes the value of intellectual property and assets, including confidentiality agreements and thorough experimental documentation.
- Generates and logs data to support internal development forms (IDFs), patents, reports, and publications.
- Demonstrates the highest SHE standards and upholds Omya values.
- Intervenes when inappropriate behavior is exhibited.
- Develops and pursues Omya leadership attributes.
- May coordinate ISO or safety activities for the team or R&D department.
Requirements
- High School diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Science, Engineering, or Chemistry.
- Minimum 7 years of laboratory or relevant experience with a High School diploma; or up to 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for operating basic and complex lab equipment.
- Excellent computer and software skills, including word processing and Excel spreadsheet applications.
- Proficiency in office and technical software (e.g., Microsoft Office 365).
- Good command of both oral and written English.
- Must possess current U.S. employment authorization; sponsorship is not available for this position.
