Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintains, operates, and calibrates lab equipment as required.
• Communicates results of analyses.
• Collaborates with production, outside laboratories, and others as needed.
• Operates high speed, heavy saws, presses, and other equipment during destructive and nondestructive testing.
• Retains samples.
• Develops work instructions and forms maintaining documentation.
• Aids in the development and implementation of new test methods.
• Maintains a safe working environment for themselves and others.
• Displays leadership capabilities in all aspects of their work.
• Shows conscious awareness of sustainability practices.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or minimum of one year related experience and training.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Höganäs in North America is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work at our Johnstown, PA plant. This position provides analyses and sets up materials according to specifications and maintains records according to the management system requirements and NAH quality system.
