About the Role

A ForMotion Lab Technician-I supports the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of prosthetic and orthotic devices according to prescription and under the guidance of certified clinicians. Ensures work meets quality standards and maintains a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates basic orthotic/prosthetic devices as instructed.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on devices and tools.
  • Tests devices for movement, alignment, and basic stability.
  • Completes assigned work orders accurately and on time.
  • Maintains organized, clean lab workspace.
  • Adheres to all safety and quality procedures.

Supervision: Works under close supervision. May assist higher-level technicians.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of industrial or hands-on technical experience (machine shop, auto repair, etc.).
  • Comfortable with tools and physical labor.
  • Must be available during clinic operating hours and able to uphold policies with professionalism and fairness.

Work Environment

Works in a professional office and laboratory setting. Regular use of standard office equipment and O&P lab tools (e.g., grinders, ovens, routers, hand/power tools). Physical demands include lifting up to 50+ lbs, dexterous hand use, standing, bending, and visual acuity (close, distance, color, depth perception).
