We are actively hiring a Laboratory Technician to support our Orlando, FL site. Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location: Onsite FLSA: Non-Exempt Compensation: Hourly based on experience ($22 - $25/hr) Responsibilities Performs phlebotomy/venipuncture duties for research subjects as needed (maintains valid and updated phlebotomy licensing)Processes laboratory specimens (centrifugation, pipetting, creating slides, etc.)Prepares lab kits and lab supplies for protocol required lab collectionsTracks receipt of laboratory results and assists with filingStocks lab supplies - unloads and organizes lab supplies in on-site lab supply storage room; maintains an inventory of lab supplies and re-orders when needed; assists in purchasing new equipment and supplies as neededPerforms point of care laboratory testing such as HbA1C, glucose, hematocrit, dipstick urinalysis, pregnancy testing as requiredTracks and maintains sample inventory logs for ambient and frozen specimens shipped to central lab(s)Maintains inventory of lab supplies and orders lab kits and lab supplies as neededParticipates in research related meetings and training as a member of the research team; assists in the development of detailed lab manual describing the biospecimen processing protocolsMaintains and updates IATA certification for proper packing and shipping of lab specimens for the clinical trialsResponds to laboratory queriesOther duties may be assigned by management Requirements Certified Phlebotomist (Active License)IATA certification is preferredExperience performing phlebotomy with patients in a clinic or hospital settingExperience with clinical research is preferred but not requiredFamiliar with e-source reporting via an electronic platformA clear understanding of ICH, FDA, and GCP regulationsImpeccable organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the Principal Investigator, research team, Study Sponsor/CROs, potential subjects, and referral sourcesAn ethical compass that compels the candidate to be honest, detail-oriented, and self-drivenHigh-level critical thinking skillsWorking knowledge of medical terminology and lab collection/processing/storage proceduresProficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite Benefits Flourish Research offers an excellent comprehensive benefits package to include: Health, dental, and vision insurance plans, 401(k) with a 100% employer match on the first 4% of employee contributions, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, employee referral program, employee assistance program, life insurance, disability insurance, and a generous PTO plan covering vacation, sick, personal days and 8 paid holidays.
