About the role

Diversified CPC International, Inc., an ISO 9000 Certified Company, seeks Laboratory Technicians to join their team. Located in Channahon, IL, this position offers opportunities to work with specialty gases, aerosol propellants, alternative fuels, NGL refrigerants, and foam blowing agents.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and continuously work towards learning all production processes to assist in improving product quality.
  • Operate analytical instrumentation such as Gas Chromatography, Electronic Hygrometer, Titrator, Rateometric Colorimetry, Mercury and Sulfur analyzer, Mass Spectrometry, etc.
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and finished analytical testing based on specifications and requirements for production and ensure product load meets specifications before releasing product for shipment.
  • Report results accurately and timely to ensure continuity for the production of materials.
  • Acknowledge the QC paperwork for the finished products electronically.
  • Maintain retained samples of shipped products to confirm test results, if necessary.
  • Keep ongoing records of results and testing procedures by using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Perform maintenance and calibration on all department equipment under the supervision of the analytical chemists.
  • Explore new ways of promoting products and services.
  • Support the development and implementation of work processes that improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain adequate lab supplies, reagents, equipment used for testing and lab operations.
  • Prepare chemical solutions and standards as needed.
  • Display quality work through strong attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.
  • Able to work various shifts or rotating shifts, including weekends.
  • Able to work overtime as necessary, including some weekends.
  • Able to work various shifts or rotating shifts as required by the business.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 or 4-year Science related degree (preferred) with focus in Chemical, Analytical, or related field.
  • High School Degree/GED plus minimum 4 years of industrial experience required.
  • Must stay motivated and show initiative to complete tasks under limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, good eye/hand coordination.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent math, reading and writing comprehension skills.
  • Good telephone communication skills.
  • Complete all required safety training.
  • Follow and display knowledge of all safety procedures.
  • Comply with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Able to meet physical requirements and perform duties in working conditions described herein.

Skills
