Laboratory Technician – 3rd Shift

Responsibilities
- Use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases in support of veterinarian treatment.
- Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples received daily by the thousands.
- Set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Specialize in an assigned department within the lab.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- A 2-, 3-, or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT) is a plus.
- Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (e.g., microscopes, pipetting, clinical diagnostic analyzers) is ideal.
- Positive attitude and ability to bring energy to support colleagues.
- Strong teamwork skills and a sense of responsibility.
- Attention to detail and ability to work reliably and precisely.
- Ability to meet physical requirements: standing and sitting for extended periods, phone and computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50 lbs, and specific vision abilities (close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
- Potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

Schedule
This is a full-time position with hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM. Some Saturday overnights may be required based on business need. Shifts and hours may vary slightly depending on business needs. Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
