Laboratory Support Services Supervisor

Under the direction of the Laboratory Support Services Manager, this role manages, supervises, and coordinates daily operations across pre-analytic and post-analytic laboratory services, specimen management, patient registration, test ordering, and phlebotomy services. The position oversees the Wilson and BGH phlebotomy teams, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and customer-focused operations.

Responsibilities

  • Staff leadership and workflow oversight for pre-analytic and post-analytic laboratory services
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance
  • Provide training and direct support for operational needs such as specimen processing, test order entry, and phlebotomy
  • Resolve issues involving workload distribution, equipment, personnel, patient complaints, and provider service needs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years’ healthcare experience, including 3-5 years of direct phlebotomy experience

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 3-5 years of supervisory experience within a clinical laboratory or phlebotomy setting
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, CDM, medical necessity, and value-based care
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician license
  • ASCP MLT certification
  • Certified Phlebotomist

Work Locations

UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY and UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY. This role may require floating across multiple UHS facilities.

Schedule

  • Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational
  • Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay

Compensation Range: $22.97 - $34.46 per hour, depending on experience.
