Laboratory Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Coordinating or managing laboratory testing activities.
• Ensuring laboratory testing services are conducted safely and consistently with company and project requirements.
• Overseeing or coordinating the training and utilization of laboratory staff.
• Maintaining and cleaning the laboratory and testing equipment.
• Providing supplemental operating policies and procedures.
• Assisting in proposal and cost estimate preparation.
• Supervising laboratory activities to ensure they are completed on time and in compliance with client and project requirements.
• Evaluating laboratory personnel's performance and assisting in their professional development.
• Supervising the efficient use of facilities and equipment, and requesting additional resources as needed.
• Overseeing calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory area.
• Directing short-range business development activities and preparing reports and proposals.
• Ensuring laboratory personnel comply with company administrative policies.
• Selecting, recruiting, and training laboratory personnel.
• Performing construction and geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Leading safety efforts and promoting continuous quality monitoring and improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience performing laboratory tests on construction and geotechnical materials.
• Certification by qualified national, regional, or state authorities (ACI, NICET, DOT) or in-house certification in areas such as concrete, aggregates, soil and rock, or road and paving materials.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
