Responsibilities
- Coordinating or managing laboratory testing activities.
- Ensuring laboratory testing services are conducted safely and consistently with company and project requirements.
- Overseeing or coordinating the training and utilization of laboratory staff.
- Maintaining and cleaning the laboratory and testing equipment.
- Providing supplemental operating policies and procedures.
- Assisting in proposal and cost estimate preparation.
- Supervising laboratory activities to ensure they are completed on time and in compliance with client and project requirements.
- Evaluating laboratory personnel's performance and assisting in their professional development.
- Supervising the efficient use of facilities and equipment, and requesting additional resources as needed.
- Overseeing calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory area.
- Directing short-range business development activities and preparing reports and proposals.
- Ensuring laboratory personnel comply with company administrative policies.
- Selecting, recruiting, and training laboratory personnel.
- Performing construction and geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Leading safety efforts and promoting continuous quality monitoring and improvement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience performing laboratory tests on construction and geotechnical materials.
- Certification by qualified national, regional, or state authorities (ACI, NICET, DOT) or in-house certification in areas such as concrete, aggregates, soil and rock, or road and paving materials.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
