Laboratory Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Coordinating or managing laboratory testing activities
• Ensuring laboratory testing services are conducted safely and consistently
• Overseeing or coordinating training and utilization of laboratory staff
• Maintaining and cleaning laboratory and testing equipment
• Providing supplemental operating policies and procedures
• Assisting in proposal and cost estimate preparation
• Supervising laboratory activities to ensure compliance with client and project requirements
• Evaluating employee performance and assisting in professional development
• Supervising the efficient use of facilities and equipment
• Overseeing calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory area
• Directing short-range business development activities
• Supervising administrative systems to ensure proper reporting
• Recruiting, selecting, and training personnel
• Performing construction and geotechnical laboratory testing
• Leading safety efforts and promoting continuous quality monitoring

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience performing laboratory tests on construction and geotechnical materials
• Certification by qualified national, regional or state authorities (ACI, NICET, DOT) or in-house certification in relevant areas
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
