Preferred Experience

Must hold ASCP certification or an equivalent credential as an MLS generalist. A minimum of at least 4 years of supervisor experience in a hospital lab setting. CAP, CLIA, and Joint commission accreditation standard is highly desired.

Essential Functions

• Supervises the work of assigned subordinates in testing phases.
• Performs all delegated functions as defined by the facility CLIA Director.
• Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel.
• Affords assistance in selecting, orienting, training, assigning, evaluating, disciplining, and discharging employees.
• Affords assistance in the development of policies and procedures related to the laboratory, staffing, and scheduling.
• Communicates and escalates staffing issues or other concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Maintains oversight of the inventory system to ensure that necessary supplies are available as needed and in the proper quantity.
• Affords assistance in implementing quality assurance programs and maintaining standards and records that document compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Affords assistance in reviewing quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance records, and any corrective actions.
• Affords assistance in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.

• General computer skills including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
• Experience: 4 Years of Experience
• Certification/License/Registration: ASCP-BloodBanking Technologist (ASCP-BB), ASCP-Chemistry Technologist (ASCP-C), ASCP-Cytogenetics Technologist (ASCP-CG), ASCP-Cytologist (ASCP-CT), ASCP-Hematology Technologist (ASCP-H), ASCP-Histotechnician (ASCP-HT), ASCP-Histotechnologist (ASCP-HTL), ASCP-Microbiology Technologist (ASCP-M), Molecular Biology Technologist (ASCP-MB), ASCP-Blood Banking Specialist (ASCP-SBB), ASCP-Chemistry Specialist (ASCP-SC): Must have one of the following: ASCP-BBASCP CASCP-CGASCP-CTASCP-HASCP-HTASCP-HTLASCP-MASCP-MBASCP-SBBASCP-SCASCP-SHASCP-SMCHS-ABHICHT-ABHICLSMLSMTSCTSCYMSMB.
