Laboratory Specialist

About the role

This position performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments related to the bacterial pathogen Staphylococcus aureus. The laboratory focuses on the adaptation and evolution of S. aureus during infection.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports.
• Maintains inventory, orders supplies, and logs activities.
• Writes manuscripts and grant proposals.
• Prepares data visualizations.
• Assists with manuscript preparation and grant proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Bacteriology or Molecular Biology.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with protein purification and/or animal models of infection is preferred.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Minimal supervision required.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry equipment or supplies up to moderate weights, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions during laboratory procedures.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.
