Laboratory Safety Technician
About the role
CSS has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Safety Technician to provide occupational safety services at our client site, the National Institutes of NIH in Bethesda, MD.
Responsibilities
- Conducting laboratory hazard assessments
- Supporting the development of laboratory safety programs
- Conducting laboratory surveys
- Obtaining basic information on processes, hazards, and controls
- Ensuring laboratory personnel are aware of safety resources and general requirements
Requirements
- BS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline
- One or more years of laboratory experience with experience in safety and health procedures and protocols
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work as a solid contributor in a team environment
- Capable of multi-tasking and changing direction depending on work load
- Previous Federal government experience
