Laboratory Safety Technician

About the role

CSS has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Safety Technician to provide occupational safety services at our client site, the National Institutes of NIH in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

• Conducting laboratory hazard assessments
• Supporting the development of laboratory safety programs
• Conducting laboratory surveys
• Obtaining basic information on processes, hazards, and controls
• Ensuring laboratory personnel are aware of safety resources and general requirements

Requirements

• BS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline
• One or more years of laboratory experience with experience in safety and health procedures and protocols
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Computer skills including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work as a solid contributor in a team environment
• Capable of multi-tasking and changing direction depending on work load
• Previous Federal government experience
