Laboratory Safety Technician

About the role

The Laboratory Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment in laboratory settings. This includes conducting safety inspections, training staff on safety protocols, and responding to emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections of laboratory equipment and facilities.
• Train laboratory personnel on safety procedures and best practices.
• Respond to and manage laboratory emergencies, including spills and chemical exposures.
• Document all safety incidents and maintain records as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., chemistry, biology).
• At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and laboratory safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic computer literacy.

Pay
