Laboratory Material Coordinator

About the role

This is a laboratory support position with emphasis on lab and warehouse logistics activities. The primary work location is in the facility warehouse/logistics center.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials and items of varying sizes, shapes, and weights, including packaging and shipping.
• Perform commercial receipt of incoming material, verify compliance with Purchase Order requirements, and document in the computer database.
• Accurately store, count, and issue materials to support laboratory needs.
• Perform receipt inspections in accordance with laboratory processes, procedures, and industry standards.
• Provide customer pickup and delivery services according to the established schedule.
• Handle shipments of excepted radioactive packages in compliance with Department of Transportation federal regulations.
• Physical receipt and initial processing of materials and equipment from customers and suppliers using in-house proprietary software, including assisting walk-in customers.
• Ensure correct receipt inspection for each type of material received.
• Pull and pack equipment shipments in accordance with industry standards, prepare shipping paperwork, and input data into the shipping database.
• Operate equipment (e.g., hand trucks, packaging machines) safely and efficiently while loading, off-loading, or handling materials.
• Distribute work products, equipment, and parts among lab areas.
• Pickup and delivery of equipment from/to customers using a company delivery van in metro areas.
• Package, prepare, ship, and receive hazardous material (Hazmat) shipments.
• Pull instrumentation from the warehouse, restock consumables, and maintain department work areas and equipment.
• Assist labs with completing scheduled assignments both inside and outside the facility.
• Obtain radiation protection program certification for Hazmat shipping and receiving within 6 months of entering the position.
• Complete forklift training and operate a forklift within 6 months of entering the position.
• Work in a power plant environment, including climbing and walking long distances.
• Perform other job assignments or duties as directed by management, including department duty coverage, call-outs, or support for outage activities.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and pass a favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools.
• OSHA-approved forklift certification.
• Working knowledge of manual and electric pallet jacks.

Pay

Expected hourly pay range of $21.63/hr.
