About the Role
This Laboratory Director position will offer a thoughtful crossover period for mentorship, continuity, and knowledge transfer. The incoming Director will join an established leadership structure that includes a supervisor and leads, providing a supportive framework to help manage daily operations, guide staff, and advance departmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Supervise and lead a team of laboratory professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance laboratory efficiency and accuracy, improving patient care outcomes.
- Collaborate with local primary care practices to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
- Oversee the maintenance and utilization of state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology to support diagnostic services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of recent laboratory experience, with eight+ years of experience preferred.
- Experience supervising multiple laboratory sections or teams.
- CLIA Laboratory Director certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Qualifications
- MLS/MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) or equivalent certification.
- Master’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Health Care Administration preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Computer expertise sufficient to support departmental requirements, including LIS oversight, data integrity, and interface management.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Maturity and ability to work under stress.
Skills
- Experience working in a laboratory including previous leadership.
- Knowledge of laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
- Principles of Cost Accounting.
- Experience with laboratory information systems and middleware.

Pay
$105,000-115,000/year. The posted salary range reflects compensation for candidates with limited experience. An offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market data. An offer of employment may be outside of the posted range based on those factors.
Schedule
This is a Full-Time position (PT options available). Copley Hospital has a variety of shifts available across Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem needs.
