Laboratory Director
About the role
We are seeking a Laboratory Director to join our team at Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health. This role is vital to ensuring the health and well-being of our communities.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Requirements
- MUST have: ASCP or AMT Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
Qualifications
Must have a strong background in laboratory management and a proven track record of success in leading and managing laboratory operations.
Skills
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in medical terminology and regulatory compliance is required.
