About the role
The Laboratory Coordinator I/II serves as an essential operational and administrative partner to the Senior Laboratory Coordinator (SLC) within Zachry Common Labs. This role supports daily, multi-floor laboratory logistics and oversees lab operations under the direction of the SLC. The incumbent provides strategic support and manages institutional documentation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment to satisfy seasonal demand.
- Coordinate with vendors for repair and maintenance.
- Train student workers and staff.
- Enforce PPE rules.
- Manage daily lab management.
- Order and maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
- Stay current on latest technology and equipment.
- Advise on future purchases/technologies for the labs.
- Document SOPs and training manuals for equipment.
- Assist with longer-term lab organizational efforts.
- Work with diverse groups of customers.
- Maintain reference materials, SDS, calibration, safety data forms.
- Support research.
- Lead staff in relation to development, planning, training and support of facility users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of experience in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience for a Laboratory Coordinator I.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience for a Laboratory Coordinator II.
