Laboratory Assistant PRN

The Laboratory Assistant position at CHI St. Gabriel's Health in Little Falls, Minnesota plays a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, utilizing expertise and advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process patient specimens for various diagnostic tests.

Responsibilities

- Practices positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions - Practices HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions - Establishes and maintains good communication within the department and with other hospital departments - Takes responsibility for the department workflow, assisting all members of the team to maintain department workflow and efficiency - Processes specimen into the lab, organized for department distribution. Moves processed samples quickly to laboratory departments for testing - Handles Laboratory Send-out testing. Processes, organizes, packing lists and packaging for testing sent to external laboratories according to procedures

Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED - Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association within 90 Days of start date

Preferred

- Certificate from Lab Assistant Program within six (6) months of hire or six (6) months experience in an acute care facility - Certificate Other Phlebotomy program

Qualifications

- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends - Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Pay

- Hourly rate of $19.53 - $25.51 per hour
