Job Summary
Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist to join our team at CHA Cambridge Hospital. This position performs routine laboratory work under supervision, contributing to the efficient operation of the laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Performing phlebotomy on adults and children
- Performing quality control and assigned technical work under direct supervision
- Registration of patients
- Specimen processing, labeling, and preparation of specimens as required
- Creating site batches
- Performing assigned technical work under the direct supervision of a manager
- Centrifugation of specimens
- Preparation and staining of slides
- Performing point-of-care waived testing
- Labeling of tubes/slides for testing
- Storage and retrieval of specimens
- Processing/planting specimens for Microbiology
- Filing and photocopying of documents
- Performing computer functions
- Answering telephone calls for the department
- Transporting supplies from the lab storeroom to keep work area adequately stocked
- On-call responsibilities
- Preparing specimens for send-out
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous science course education
- Fluency in the English language
- Basic computer skills
- Meditech experience preferred
- Phlebotomy training and experience

Pay and Schedule
- Pay Range: $22.42 - $37.32 per hour
- Location: CHA Cambridge Hospital
- Union Name: CH Laborers 380
- Work Schedule: Evening
- Length Of Shift(s) In Hours: M-F with weekends rotation 8 hrs shift
- Shift Details: 3:00- 11:30 M-F with weekends rotation & on-call
- Holiday Requirements: Yes
