About the role
As a Lab Assistant Lead, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Utilize expertise and advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests.
- Exercise limited supervision over staff, while performing much the same work as others in the job family, participating in the day-to-day operations of the work unit.
- Practice positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions.
- Practice HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions.
- Establish and maintain good communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
- Take responsibility for the department workflow, assisting all members of the team to maintain department workflow and efficiency.
- Create an atmosphere by manner, work, and deed that fosters teamwork and collaboration.
- Process specimen into the lab, organized for department distribution.
Requirements
- High School Graduate General Studies, or High School GED General Studies, upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (through AHA) - CPR, within 90 Days.
- Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist: WA, within 6 - months.
- Lead - Two years of current related work experience in both adult and pediatric phlebotomy within the last 5 years, upon hire.
Preferred
- Certificate from Other Lab Assistant Program, or Certificate from Other Phlebotomy program, upon hire.
- Lead - National registration with ASCP in Phlebotomy, upon hire.
