Lab Assistant Lead
Job Description
Serves as the liaison between phlebotomy laboratory and staff, physicians, patients, family and other hospital staff.
Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
Education & Certification
Education: HS Diploma or GED. Certification & Licensure: CA Licensed Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) I or II.
Typical Experience
4 years recent relevant experience.
Skills & Knowledge
- Demonstrated specialized expertise in standard phlebotomy principles, procedures, views, and equipment related to handling of biological specimens.
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, biology, and medical terminology.
- Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
- Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
- Prioritize and delegate assignments based on experience, procedures, policies, and best practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Work autonomously, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
- Identify and analyze data to solve problems that arise with little or no precedent.
- Analyze workflow/processes and propose improvements or solutions that improve the efficiency of the team.
- Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
- Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Pay & Benefits
Pay Range: $36.36 to $45.45 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
