About the role
The Regional Float Laboratory Assistant supports laboratory operations across multiple IU Health facilities, including Lafayette, West Lafayette, Frankfort, Tipton, and Monticello.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient specimen collection and processing
- Supports specimen registration and customer service
- Maintains compliance with laboratory policies and quality standards
- Serves as a flexible staffing resource for various healthcare settings
- Works in a variety of healthcare settings, traveling between regional sites as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program with experience in laboratory or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred
- Valid Indiana operator's license and good driving record within the past three years
- Working knowledge of computers and telephone skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods
