Laboratory Assistant I - Regional Float

About the role

The Regional Float Laboratory Assistant supports laboratory operations across multiple IU Health facilities, including Lafayette, West Lafayette, Frankfort, Tipton, and Monticello.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient specimen collection and processing
• Supports specimen registration and customer service
• Maintains compliance with laboratory policies and quality standards
• Serves as a flexible staffing resource for various healthcare settings
• Works in a variety of healthcare settings, traveling between regional sites as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program with experience in laboratory or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred
• Valid Indiana operator's license and good driving record within the past three years
• Working knowledge of computers and telephone skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods
