Laboratory Assistant I - Regional Float

About the role

The Regional Float Laboratory Assistant is a full-time position that provides laboratory support and phlebotomy coverage across multiple IU Health laboratory locations, including Lafayette, West Lafayette, Frankfort, Tipton, and Monticello.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient specimen collection, specimen processing, registration support, and customer service
• Maintains compliance with all laboratory policies and quality standards
• Serves as a flexible staffing resource to support patient care and operational needs
• Works in a variety of healthcare settings, traveling between regional sites as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program with experience in laboratory or coursework in biological, chemical or related science preferred
• Valid Indiana operator's license and good driving history for the last three years (may be required)
• Understanding of traffic laws in the State of Indiana (may be required)
• Working knowledge of computers
• Telephone skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member
• Able to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
