Laboratory Assistant

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred.
• Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with scientific research methodologies is preferred.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
• Proficiency in operating basic laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, microscopes, and pipettes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to quickly learn and use Laboratory Information System software.
• Accurate handling, labeling, and processing of blood and urine specimens.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
• Dedication to advancing scientific knowledge through rigorous research practices.

Schedule

40 hour per week from Monday to Sunday – specific hours will be determined upon discussion with the candidates.

Pay

The reasonable estimated salary for this role ranges from $21.00 to $24.00 per hour. Actual compensation is based upon factors such as the candidate's education, skills, qualifications, and related work experience.
