Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries. Every day, you will utilize your expertise and our advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a foundational understanding of laboratory procedures, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and maintain an eager commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care relative to the patient's age-specific needs.
• Play a critical role in the Emergency Room schedule.
• Absorb and process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, and aliquoting.
• Prepare reagents and solutions according to established protocols.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Perform routine lab tasks such as washing glassware, sterilizing instruments, and preparing culture media.
• Absorb other tasks as assigned by the laboratory supervisor.
• Will be required to work in the Emergency Room.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of six (6) months as a laboratory phlebotomist is required.
• California Certified Phlebotomy through the Department of Public Health required.
• California Phlebotomy Certification.

Pay Range

$27.71 - $33.13 /hour
