About the role

The Laboratory Assistant 3 position at Park Nicollet provides a variety of laboratory services including specimen collection, client service, reception desk duties, ordering/scheduling/billing functions, laboratory testing, phlebotomy, dispatching, specimen processing, centrifuging, specimen delivery to appropriate laboratories/departments, and ensuring efficient workflow management. This role also serves as a resource for hospital and clinic staff regarding specimen handling and processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide specimen collection, client service, and reception desk duties
• Order, schedule, and bill for laboratory services
• Perform laboratory tests and phlebotomy procedures
• Dispatch specimens to appropriate laboratories/departments
• Process and deliver specimens efficiently
• Affirm proper workflow management and respond to customer requests
• Assist with specimen handling and processing inquiries from hospital and clinic staff

Requirements

• Requires a 2-year or associate degree in applied science or equivalent
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and solve problems
• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to meet time-sensitive customer requests and handle changes quickly

Qualifications
