Lab Assistant 3

About the role

This is a 3-month position with potential for extension. You will support laboratory operations by logging, tracking, and documenting specimen information, processing incoming specimens, performing pathology reviews, and managing sample shipments.

Responsibilities

• Log, track, and document all relevant information for each specimen.
• Process incoming specimens.
• Perform pathology review with pathologists.
• Prepare special kits.
• Organize and ship outgoing samples for projects.
• Scan slide samples using the Aperio System.
• Generate summaries of the usability of biospecimens for translational science projects.
• Ship samples as needed.
• Order laboratory supplies.
• Contact vendors for equipment repair.
• Review emails and contact sites when issues arise.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required to respond to laboratory emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, chemistry, laboratory science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
