Lab Assistant 3
About the role
This is a 3-month position with potential for extension. You will support laboratory operations by logging, tracking, and documenting specimen information, processing incoming specimens, performing pathology reviews, and managing sample shipments.
Responsibilities
- Log, track, and document all relevant information for each specimen.
- Process incoming specimens.
- Perform pathology review with pathologists.
- Prepare special kits.
- Organize and ship outgoing samples for projects.
- Scan slide samples using the Aperio System.
- Generate summaries of the usability of biospecimens for translational science projects.
- Ship samples as needed.
- Order laboratory supplies.
- Contact vendors for equipment repair.
- Review emails and contact sites when issues arise.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required to respond to laboratory emergencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, chemistry, laboratory science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
