A Day in the Life
As an Analyst I in Denver, CO, you will support multiple laboratory projects while working alongside experienced analysts and chemists. You’ll spend most of your time performing hands-on analytical work, learning instrument operation, analyzing mass spec chromatograms, and contributing to routine laboratory operations under established procedures. This Analyst I role is designed for you if you enjoy working with analytical instruments, following structured procedures, and translating data into meaningful results, this role will give you a strong foundation for a career in analytical laboratory work.
Pay
The hourly compensation range for this role is $23.00 to $27.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
Schedule
This role is scheduled from 12pm - 8pm.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the operation and routine maintenance within the laboratory
- Process and interpret data using acquisition and processing software
- Prepare calibration standards
- Use basic laboratory equipment such as micro-syringes, balances, and pipettes
- Work closely with GC-FID instruments
- Enter and access data within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Evaluate instrument performance and report irregularities
- Aid in drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Follow all Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and laboratory policies
- Support additional laboratory tasks as needed
Qualifications
- BA or BS in Chemistry or a closely related science
- Hands-on laboratory experience gained through real world or undergraduate coursework experiences
- Familiarity with EPA 8260, 8015, 8270 Methods is a plus
- Basic understanding of analytical chemistry principles and laboratory best practices
- Ability to follow written procedures accurately and consistently
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Effective communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow technical skills in a production lab environment

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, and walking

- Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
- Works in an office and/or laboratory environment
- May be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
- May occasionally work shifts up to 12 hours in duration
