About the role
This is an entry-level, onsite Laboratory Analyst position in Belcamp, Maryland. The role involves performing physical and chemical testing within a team environment and is suited for a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills. A flexible work schedule is offered.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a safe, clean, and accident-free laboratory environment.
- Prioritize testing based on business needs and departmental goals.
- Perform specialized testing in support of internal and external customers and departmental projects.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring necessary supplies and equipment are available.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of laboratory data.
- Review laboratory data for accuracy and communicate any concerns to the laboratory supervisor.
- Develop a working knowledge of products and customer requirements.
- Maintain the sample retain library.
- Participate in the improvement of Quality Assurance and Food Safety systems.
- Manage the release timeframe of inbound raw materials and finished goods.
- Participate in facility GMP audits.
- Implement corrective actions as directed by laboratory management.
- Stay current with scientific developments in areas of expertise.
- Work with operations and quality assurance to understand demands on laboratory services and resolve process discrepancies.
- Perform other work as assigned.
Requirements
- A desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Analytical, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Strong communication and math skills.
- Availability to work weekend shifts as needed on a rotating basis.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
