Laboratory Analyst

About the role

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing analytical testing services to ensure product safety, authenticity, and accurate labeling. The Laboratory Technician position is a temporary role (August–December) supporting the Naperville Built Environment Testing laboratory, requiring microbiological techniques, analytical skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced, repetitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological laboratory procedures and analyses
• Maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of lab equipment
• Isolate and make cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms
• Document all data and results in specified forms
• Conduct microbial analyses of samples collected from various sources
• Adhere to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines
• Prepare specimens and samples for testing
• Work in compliance with laboratory safety standards
• Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results and findings

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
• Proven work experience as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician or in a transferable laboratory setting
• Hands‑on experience with relevant equipment, procedures, and safety regulations
• Knowledge of modern microbiological techniques
• Experience in preparing cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
• Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, speak)
