Responsibilities
- Serves and triages as the primary intake point for labor and employee relations inquiries; routes matters to appropriate Labor or Employee Relations staff; ensures timely follow-up.
- Enters, updates, and maintains labor and employee relations cases in centralized database and tracking systems; ensures accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
- Assists with system-wide and internal organizational initiatives as necessary.
- Provides administrative and analytical support for grievances, employee relations matters, investigations, and complaints, including preparing correspondence, timelines, summaries, and document packets.
- Supports compliance with collective bargaining agreements, personnel policies, and employee relations procedures; flags potential issues and escalates concerns as appropriate.
- Prepares reports concerning the type and frequency of problems and their solutions.
- Prepares routine reports related to labor and employee relations activity, including case volume, trends, timelines, and outcomes.
- Prioritizes work assignments, conducts moderately complex analyses and develops resulting recommendations.
- Supports labor and employee relations activities such as investigation coordination, meeting scheduling, bargaining preparation, document management, projects and tracking action items.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent experience / training
- Minimum 1–2 years of related experience including experience in labor relations, employee relations, human resources, legal/paralegal support, or a similar administrative or analytical role
- Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment requiring strong organization and attention to detail
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to accurately track, document, and manage multiple labor and employee relations cases
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
- Demonstrated analytical skills to review information, identify issues, and support recommendations within established guidelines
- Knowledge of other areas of human resources
- Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and employee relations processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting professional correspondence
- Proficiency with databases, case management systems, and standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
