Labor & Employment Remote Hourly Counsel - Multi Office

About the Role

Our national Innovative Staffing Team (IST) is an elite, highly trained “swat team” of Labor and Employment lawyers offering a fully-remote, hourly position. This role provides the opportunity to work with the best employment team in the country without the demands of a full-time, partner-track position. Each IST lawyer is tied to one of our national offices but can be physically located in many states. You’ll be a member of our consistently top-ranked and nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice group.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment litigation, including drafting responsive pleadings, managing all aspects of the discovery process, and drafting motions such as motions for summary judgment.
• Manage a practice that includes handling EEOC charges, defending investigations, preparing position statements, representing clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, mediations, conciliations, and negotiating settlements.
• Work collaboratively with experienced lawyers, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices.
• Manage your workload with strong time management skills and flexibility around work flow. There is no billable hours expectation, and your schedule is self-directed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of increasingly responsible employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side.
• Familiarity with federal and state court practice, as well as experience with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state, and local government administrative agencies.
• Active bar license in the state where you reside and in a state where Seyfarth maintains an office.
• Commitment to working 1,000 or more hours per year, depending on casework.
• A collegial, cooperative approach and a desire to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, partner-track position.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $100 to $130/hour. This range reflects the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of posting. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location, and business or organizational needs. This role is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
