Labor & Employment Remote Hourly Counsel - Multi Office
About the Role
Our national Innovative Staffing Team (IST) is an elite, highly trained “swat team” of Labor and Employment lawyers offering a fully-remote, hourly position. This role provides the flexibility to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, partner-track position. Each IST lawyer is tied to one of our national offices but can be physically located in many states across the country. You’ll be a member of our consistently top-ranked and nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice group.
Responsibilities
- Handle employment litigation, including drafting responsive pleadings, managing all aspects of the discovery process, and drafting motions such as motions for summary judgment.
- Manage a practice that includes handling EEOC charges, defending investigations, preparing position statements, representing clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, mediations, conciliations, and negotiating settlements.
- Collaborate with experienced lawyers, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices in a collegiate and cooperative environment.
- Work on agreed-upon matters with strong time management and flexibility around workflow.
Requirements
- 5+ years of increasingly responsible employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side.
- Familiarity with federal and state court practice, as well as experience with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state, and local government administrative agencies.
- Active bar license in the state of residence and in a state where Seyfarth maintains an office.
- Commitment to working 1,000 or more hours per year, depending on casework.
- Desire to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, partner-track position.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $100 to $130/hour. Pay within this range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location, and business or organizational needs.
