Labor & Employment Remote Hourly Counsel - Multi Office

About the Role

Our national Innovative Staffing Team (IST) is an elite, highly trained “swat team” of Labor and Employment lawyers offering a fully-remote, hourly position. This role provides the flexibility to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, partner-track position. IST lawyers are tied to one of our national offices but can be physically located in many states. You’ll be part of our top-ranked and nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice group.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment litigation, including drafting responsive pleadings, managing discovery, and drafting motions such as motions for summary judgment.
• Manage EEOC charges, including defending investigations, preparing position statements, representing clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, mediations, conciliations, and negotiating settlements.
• Collaborate with experienced lawyers, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices.
• Work on agreed-upon matters with flexibility around workflow and no billable hours expectation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of increasingly responsible employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side.
• Familiarity with federal and state court practice, as well as experience with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state, and local government administrative agencies.
• Active bar license in the state of residence and one in which Seyfarth maintains an office.
• Strong time management skills and flexibility to adapt to potential workflow changes.
• Commitment to working 1000 or more hours per year, depending on casework.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $100 to $130/hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
