Labor & Employment ERISA Staff Attorney Remote or Hybrid (3+ years) - National/Multi Office
The Opportunity
Seyfarth Shaw LLP, an international law firm with over 1,000 attorneys, is seeking a Labor & Employment Staff Attorney (ERISA) with three or more years of increasingly responsible experience in employment, commercial, or insurance litigation. Candidates should be familiar with federal court practice and possess extensive writing experience. The role requires handling a high‑volume practice that includes file review, preparing case analysis memoranda, pleadings, attending routine court hearings, mediation or conciliation meetings, and negotiating settlement agreements.
Day‑To‑Day
As a Staff Attorney in the Labor & Employment Department, you will work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys.
Requirements
- 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in employment, commercial, or insurance litigation
- Familiarity with federal court practice
- Extensive writing experience and ability to manage a high‑volume practice, including file review, case analysis memoranda, pleadings, routine court hearings, mediation or conciliation meetings, and settlement negotiations
- Excellent academic credentials and solid work ethic
- Success measured by caseload management and work quality, not by billable hours
- Active bar license in the state of residence and in a state where Seyfarth maintains an office
Pay
The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $140,000. Compensation within this range will consider education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business needs. The position is also eligible for annual merit increases and bonus pay.
